ILT
Information Learning Technology or ILT has become essential as a learning and teaching aid. You will already be familiar with the use of the internet, e-mail, CD-ROMs and your college intranet.
In this module we will look at two ILT facilities:
- An example of a college virtual learning environment (VLE) that enables you to manage your learning resources - whether Word documents, PowerPoint presentations or Videos - and deliver them on-line to your students.
- Interactive white boards - large touch sensitive boards which are connected to a computer and projector.
Learning objectives
Having completed this module you should be able to:
- Identify ways in which interactive whiteboards or other technologies can be used to enhance the learning experience.
- Explain the advantages of using interactive whiteboards or other similar technologies for learners and teachers.
- Identify ways in which interactive white boards or other technologies can be used in your own teaching situation.
- Be able to access and use a VLE to upload material for student use.
- Recognise the potential for systems such as a VLE to enhance the learner experience.
